Tax / VAT validation plugin for ReadyCMS
Tax details matter. Incorrect VAT or business registration information can lead to invoice issues, failed deliveries, and time-consuming communication with customers.
Tax / VAT validation helps reduce these problems by checking business tax identifiers whenever an order is created or updated. The plugin uses country-aware rules to identify missing information, invalid formats, unusually short values, and other common data-entry mistakes.
When a potential issue is detected, your team receives a clear warning directly inside the order view. This gives staff an opportunity to review the information and contact the customer before invoicing, fulfillment, or delivery.
The plugin acts as a practical first line of validation. It improves visibility and catches common errors without blocking checkout or preventing your team from processing an order.

Guide

-

Continue receiving orders normally
The plugin runs automatically in the background whenever an order is created or updated. No additional action is required from customers or administrators.
-
Review the validation result
The plugin checks the entered VAT and organization number values using rules based on the selected country.
If the information appears valid, no notification is displayed.
If a likely issue is detected, the order view displays a warning with an explanation. This may include:
- Missing VAT information for a company order
- A VAT number that does not match the expected country format
- An organization number that appears unusually short
- Incomplete or incorrectly entered business information
-
Resolve potential issues
Your team can review the warning, check the submitted information, and contact the customer when necessary.
The warning does not block the order. Your team can correct the details, continue processing the order, or complete any additional verification required by your business.
Validation rules
Validation rules are maintained by ReadyCMS and cover common VAT formats across many countries, particularly in Europe.
When a strict country-specific rule is unavailable, the plugin can still perform basic completeness and sanity checks to identify values that are likely to be incorrect.
These checks are intended to catch common entry errors. They do not replace official tax authority or VAT verification services.
