eBay Product Feed (XML, CSV) integration for ReadyCMS

The ReadyCMS eBay Product Feed integration empowers merchants to list their products on one of the world's largest online marketplaces. You can keep your listings current by automatically creating eBay-compliant product feeds (XML or CSV)—no more manual uploads or out-of-date information. Whether you want to launch new items or update existing listings, the eBay Product Feed plugin streamlines the process from your ReadyCMS dashboard.

Key features

  • Automatic feed generation: Create eBay-ready feeds in XML or CSV formats quickly and effortlessly.
  • Customizable parameters: Filter, sort, and include only the products that you want to list on eBay.
  • Real-time updates: Keep listing details (price, quantity, description) consistent between ReadyCMS and eBay.
  • Seamless integration: Easily upload feeds to eBay Seller Hub, minimizing manual input and potential errors.

Benefits

  • Broader audience reach: Attract millions of eBay shoppers, boosting visibility and sales potential.
  • Time-saving automation: Generate up-to-date feeds without constantly having to manage listings by hand.
  • Consistent pricing & inventory: Reduce overselling or price discrepancies by synchronizing product data in near-real-time.
  • Flexible configuration: You can tailor your feed to your exact business needs. You can list all products or just a select range of SKUs.

How it works

The eBay Product Feed plugin directly pulls product data (title, description, images, price, stock, etc.) from your ReadyCMS store. It formats this data according to eBay's listing requirements and makes it available via two URLs:

Simply upload one of these feeds to your eBay Seller Hub. The data will then be processed to create or update your eBay listings.

Guide

  1. Configure parameters
    • The plugin is already integrated with your ReadyCMS instance
    • Use query parameters like category[], manufacturer[], or status to filter products.
    • Example: ?limit=50 or ?category[]=32&category[]=423.
  2. Review your feed
    • Navigate to the XML or CSV feed URL.
    • Confirm that product details—pricing, titles, etc.—are correct.
  3. Upload to eBay Seller Hub
    • Log in to your eBay Seller Hub account.
    • Use eBay's File Exchange or other supported methods to upload your feed.
    • Map the fields as needed (e.g., SKU, title, description, price).
  4. Update regularly
    • Schedule daily or weekly feed updates to ensure your eBay listings stay accurate.
    • If you frequently change prices or stock levels, consider more frequent updates.

Best practices for creating an eBay product feed

  1. Accurate titles and descriptions: eBay heavily relies on keyword-rich titles and clear descriptions. Ensure you provide detailed and relevant product information.
  2. Quality images: Use high-resolution images that adhere to eBay's guidelines. Avoid watermarks or text overlays if not permitted.
  3. Monitor category and item specifics: To improve search visibility, categorize products correctly and add key item specifics (e.g., brand, size, color).
  4. Set competitive pricing: eBay is a price-sensitive marketplace. Keep listings competitively priced to attract buyers.
  5. Stay compliant with eBay policies: Follow eBay's guidelines regarding prohibited items, listing strategies, and shipping requirements to prevent listing removal or account restrictions.

FAQ

Q1: What is the eBay Product Feed plugin for ReadyCMS?

A1: An automated solution creates eBay-compatible product feeds (in XML or CSV). Instead of manually entering product data, you can upload the ready-to-use feed to eBay Seller Hub for streamlined listings.

Q2: Can I limit which products appear in my eBay feed?

A2: Absolutely. Parameters (e.g., category[], tag[], status, manufacturer[]) let you include or exclude items, so only the products you want appear in your eBay listings.

Q3: Do I need a specific eBay store subscription to use this feed?

A3: Any eBay seller can use feeds, but certain listing tools or bulk upload features may require an eBay store subscription. For the most accurate information, check eBay’s Seller Plans.

Q4: How often should I update my feed?

A4: That depends on how often your pricing or inventory changes. Daily or weekly updates are common. If your inventory is very dynamic, you might consider more frequent updates.

Q5: What if eBay rejects some of my listings?

A5: eBay usually provides an error report or explanation. Common issues include missing mandatory fields, policy violations, or incorrect item specifics. Adjust your ReadyCMS product data accordingly, then re-upload the feed.

Q6: Can this feed plugin handle product variations (e.g., size, color)?

A6: Yes. Ensure your variations (such as size, color, etc.) are correctly set up in ReadyCMS. The feed will include variation data so that eBay listings reflect your product options properly.

Q7: How does order fulfillment work with eBay?

A7: Orders are processed through eBay Seller Hub. To manage or sync orders in ReadyCMS, you may need an additional integration or plugin specifically designed for order synchronization.

Q8: Are there any fees for using this plugin?

A8: The plugin itself may be free or part of a specific ReadyCMS plan, but remember eBay fees (insertion fees, final value fees, etc.) still apply. Check your ReadyCMS and eBay account details for any associated costs.
